Malacca trip

Last Sunday we made a trip to Malacca to spend a night since we have no intention to go far but need A Little Break.  We booked 2 rooms at Courtyard @ Herren. A new boutique hotel on Jalan Tun Cheng Lock - just 2-minute walk to Jonker Walk. RM250 nett per night with breakfast. Downside: The bed was a tad small for us (My daughter slept in the middle with a-lot-of-karate-kicks!!)

Room 1

Room 2

Breakfast was at 2 shops down the street - Heeren Cafe! Love the relaxing songs by Olivia Ong. Brian downloaded one for me and play in the car after we returned home. So nice of him!!

My favourite part in the hotel.

Mrs. Ee. is Melissa's mum. (Melissa is my neightbour) She lives in Malacca and use to visit us when she is in KL to see her daughter. She is the most charming lady i ever met. This trip has been the most "makan" and "memorable" one in Malacca. She brought us to taste the best "nyonya food" and "chinese food" in her territory.

First lunch - Cottage Spices at Melaka Raya. It was not spicy and so yummy.  We also had cendol with gula-melaka. There were 2 more dishes not in the pic. We ordered 9 in total.

Next day, she invited us again to Bei Zhan Restaurant. She said this restaurant is equally good as Overseas Restaurant in KL. We totally agreed!!

We had some Chicken Rice Balls at Jonker Walks. Honestly I don't like it at all but since it's a local-must-try-dish and first timer for Alicia too.  We "terpaksa" to order (as shown) for 5 persons.
