Makan night at El Meson

I love almost every Friday!!  That because it's the last day of work of the week and also MY MAKAN NIGHT with the gals. This time we had Simmone with us. After giving birth to the Apple of Her Eye. We have not seen Simmone for a while. Not complaining, we knew how busy when the little one is still below 1. Amanda suggested El-Meson on Jln Telawi and Jas + Simmone were craving for Spanish Food. One said Barcelona's was unforgetabble and the other one said Madrid's was the best.  So we want to try KL's one and judge...I would say not so disspoointed.

(Amanda was shopping in BV)

Tapas was so so!!
Some healthy leaves of course!

We all agreed PAELLA was done well by El-Meson. Good job!

I was craving for Coffee and Meringue  since Alexis is few blocks away so we continued the unfinished blah blah blah there.

Malacca trip

Last Sunday we made a trip to Malacca to spend a night since we have no intention to go far but need A Little Break.  We booked 2 rooms at Courtyard @ Herren. A new boutique hotel on Jalan Tun Cheng Lock - just 2-minute walk to Jonker Walk. RM250 nett per night with breakfast. Downside: The bed was a tad small for us (My daughter slept in the middle with a-lot-of-karate-kicks!!)

Room 1

Room 2

Breakfast was at 2 shops down the street - Heeren Cafe! Love the relaxing songs by Olivia Ong. Brian downloaded one for me and play in the car after we returned home. So nice of him!!

My favourite part in the hotel.

Mrs. Ee. is Melissa's mum. (Melissa is my neightbour) She lives in Malacca and use to visit us when she is in KL to see her daughter. She is the most charming lady i ever met. This trip has been the most "makan" and "memorable" one in Malacca. She brought us to taste the best "nyonya food" and "chinese food" in her territory.

First lunch - Cottage Spices at Melaka Raya. It was not spicy and so yummy.  We also had cendol with gula-melaka. There were 2 more dishes not in the pic. We ordered 9 in total.

Next day, she invited us again to Bei Zhan Restaurant. She said this restaurant is equally good as Overseas Restaurant in KL. We totally agreed!!

We had some Chicken Rice Balls at Jonker Walks. Honestly I don't like it at all but since it's a local-must-try-dish and first timer for Alicia too.  We "terpaksa" to order (as shown) for 5 persons.

Dinner and Drinks on Changkat which is a must for KL girls!!

Cindy was back again in early March. Without wasting time, Jasmine booked a table at Daikayama on Changkat.  After finished work on Friday, I picked Cindy and Audrey from Forum and rushed to Changkat. As soon we reached Changkat, the rain started to pour...damn. Due to professionalism, I stopped 2 sexy ladies in front of Daikayama.  Hoping to get valet in Havana and it was long queue...damn. Jas always my lucky star, she rang me on time and asked if I needed a place to park?? I said "yes...where?"  She popped to my car and we settled at RM5 right in front of Somerset Serviced Residence where I parked next to her car. It was funny to see Jas held a small tiny umbrella under the heavy rain. She was WET, her hair liked just after a hair washed. A gift idea for her - GIANT UMBREALLA!!

We enjoyed the dinner. Daikayama was recommended by Nikkie (a girl who knows Changkat better than anyone else). Jas tried during V day and she loves it!  The contemporary Jap. food was outstanding. No picture were taken as everybody was busy talking and eating. We really had a good laugh and enjoy every moment of the chats. We ended the night at twenty-one for few drinks before headed home. Sigh...yoga at 9:30am. next morning and I missed dinner & drinks with YY for her pre-birthday dinner that night. In my dream, Nikkie and sis. were cursed me like hell. Well, in real life, they both are my besties sister. We have lunch or dinner once a week no mater how busy we are.

Strawberry Cheesecake I ordered from Audrey!!

Audrey is a new member of our "makan" group. Her talent is not just being looked SEXY! She is good in baking CHEESECAKE as well. She has an online homemade cheesecake store: http://www.heavenly-cheesecake.com/. I ordered few times from her and the recent one was strawberry cheesecake for Jas's Xmas Pot-Luck Party. The texture was smooth and rich...so yummlicious!! Capital FM 88.9 did a great interview with Audrey in Feb. Cheesecake lover...try it and you will know what I meant!!
