The best neighbourhood - Bangkok

Bangkok is the most lively city in the world. You can spend hours for shopping, get the good food and continue shopping again. I booked two AirAsia tickets for Brian and I in February this year, for just RM511 (included tickets, baggage and taxes.) What a bargain!

After determained the location to stay, I aimed for boutique hotels at Thonglor. Finally, I booked 3 nights at Grass Suites (a Japaneses-style serviced apartment) via Agoda for  RM380.  It's a steal...imagine 1 bedroom apartment with equipped kitchnette and a washing machine? When we entered the apartment, we couldn't stop smiling.

Thonglor is the hip place next to Sukhumvit. You will find all kind of Japanese restaurants here as Japanese tourists love to stay at this area.  Party animals will come here to party at "Muse" and "Funky Villa". Wine lovers will be seen at Wine Republic for jazz and wines.

See our pictures/itineraries in Bkk:

*DAY 3*

After quick breafast in the room, we headed to JJ market.

We spent almost 2 hours sitting down for drinks and music at JJ market.

 Mojito again!

A funny scene

We stayed till 7pm at JJ and decided to Asiatique The Riverfront. It is a newly open night market from 5pm - 12am and we took BTS train and followed by a shuttle boat.
I am following this owner at Instagram. I realized how skinny the girls here, the clothes hardly fitted me:(
Handmade toys, so lovely!

We left the next day and looking forward for the next return in August.  I can't wait to bring Ally for sun and beach in Hua Hin.

De Bortoli Wines

I always feel lucky to know Nikkie, thanks for being Kylie's bff since high school. She is currently working with Albert Wines & Spirit which is one of the largest wine distributors in Malaysia. She has been actively involved in wine tasting with the top restaurants in KL. Two weeks ago,  she invited me and Michelle (Kylie was away!) to dine and wine at Leonardo Dining Room and Wine Loft @ Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar. Coincidently it was Mich's birthday too, we had a small celebration after the dinner. The chocolate lava was the best dessert I have had so far besides Meringue from Alexis.  Start from the appertiser till the dessert, the pairing with De Bortoli wines were *SUPERB*!

Ms. Nikki Palun, the Export Manager from De Bortoli hosted this wine tasting that night. The food blogger, Monica Tindall from The Yum List and Expat magazine were invited to sample this world-class wine too.

Nikki Palun (in blue floral dress) was inteviewed by Monica from The Yum List.

Me and Mich

3 happy girls together!

Nikkie was the busiest person that night..see pic.

She have a wide knowledge about De Bortoli wine. No wonder she has been chosen to visit De Bortoli vineyards in this coming August. *Envy*

Roberto and his friend from Pinchos Tapas Bar,Changkat Bukit BIntang also here to sampling the wines.

Roasted Rack of Lamb was the perfect meal for Mich as it paired with *Gulf Station Shiraz Viognier*.  Before that, we had Zuppa de Mare (seafood soup with tomato) to pair with *Gulf Station Sauvignon Blanc* and the healthy Avocado Crab Meat Salad to pair with *Gulf Station Pinot Noir*.

The Grilled 80-Day Aged Rib-Eye was my choice. Love the tenderness with medium rare done. Every sip of *Gold Station Shiraz Viognier* even made this meat so special.

My first experience with this beautiful Homemade Marinated Poached Red Wine Pear with malbec coulis. We had Noble One to go with it, the multi award winning dessert wine.  It was such a great joy to end! *grinned*

We never forgotten the birthday girl, the lovely *Chocolate Lava* was served when no one in the restaurant. (birthday song sung!)

A souvenir from DE BORTOLI WINES.
